Ramen in Barcelona
Koku Kitchen has been serving ramen in Barcelona since 2014, and it is still the heart of the menu. The noodles are made by hand every day, and the broth changes with the bowl: a rich tonkotsu for the miso ramen, a soy-forward chicken broth for the shoyu, a clear shio with rice noodles for the gluten-free ramen, and shiitake and kombu for the vegetarian and vegan ones.
Beyond the classics there is curry ramen, a spicy miso with kimchi heat, and tsukemen: thick noodles to dip into a concentrated broth. Eat it in any of our four restaurants, in El Gòtic, El Born, Sant Antoni and Gràcia, or order it for delivery.
Which ramen should I order?
First time? Miso Ramen. Tonkotsu broth, chashu, a soft egg, nori and wakame. Rich and rounded.
Prefer it lighter? Ramen Shoyu or Shoyu Pork Ramen. A soy-forward chicken broth, cleaner, with ginger, nori and corn.
Like it hot? Spicy Ramen. Spicy miso broth with chashu and kimchi heat.
Something different? Tsukemen Ramen. Thick noodles served on the side, for dipping into a concentrated broth.
In the mood for curry? Curry Ramen. A silky broth with the depth of Japanese curry.
No meat? Classic Vegan Ramen or Classic Vegetarian Ramen. Tofu and greens on a shiitake and kombu broth. Both also come spicy or with curry, and the vegetarian ones carry an egg.
Gluten-free? Gluten-free Ramen. A clear shio broth with rice noodles, chashu and a soft egg.
